The Tennessee Sports Writers Association selects all-state teams in 16 TSSAA-sanctioned sports.
In team sports, sport chairmen are selected to accept nominees and hold all-state meetings. These teams are selected by the membership.
In individual sports, such as golf, cross country, track and field, and tennis, the all-state teams are based on individual finish in the state meet. For the specific number, see each individual sport.
